Meet the Artist

Hi, I'm Harveysha. I’m the artist and maker behind Harvey Bee Studio. I create wearable art for people who enjoy expressing themselves through pieces that feel a little unexpected, playful, and completely their own. Crochet is at the heart of much of my work, but I’ve never wanted to put myself into one creative box. I love exploring different materials, techniques, colors, textures, and forms to simply see where an idea can go.

My Story

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom played a huge role in that. Although she wasn’t necessarily the one doing all of the crafts herself, she was always full of ideas and made sure I had access to the materials to explore them. I loved being the person who could take something she imagined and figure out how to bring it to life.

I learned to crochet when I was 12, and over the years that one skill grew alongside all of my other creative interests. What began as making things simply because I enjoyed it eventually became Harvey Bee Studio, a space where I can share the things I imagine, experiment freely, and create work that feels like me.

More Than Crochet

Harvey Bee Studio is rooted in crochet, but it isn’t meant to stop there. I see myself as an artist first. Whether I’m crocheting a hat, reworking a piece of clothing, drawing, sewing, or experimenting with something completely new, the process is always about creating from curiosity rather than staying inside one category.

That’s what I want this studio to continue becoming: a home for whatever I’m inspired to create next.

Creating Alongside Motherhood

Motherhood has changed the way I experience creativity. Becoming a mom didn’t lead me back to the person I was before. It introduced me to a new version of myself, and creating has become one of the ways I continue discovering who she is.

Now, much of my creative life happens alongside my daughter. She sees the yarn, the colors, the unfinished ideas, the mess, the experimenting, and eventually the finished piece. There’s something really special about knowing that while I’m building a creative life for myself, she’s growing up watching what it looks like to follow an idea simply because it excites you.

I hope that in her own way, she grows up feeling the same freedom to explore, make things, change her mind, and become whoever she wants to become.
